Tesco Ireland has introduced a new tropical-and-vanilla ice cream tub, crafted by Silver Pail, Ireland’s largest ice cream manufacturer. The product is now available in all 183 Tesco stores across the country.
The launch underscores Tesco’s commitment to offering premium products made with locally sourced ingredients, including high-quality cream from Irish farms.
Cork-based Silver Pail has been Tesco’s private-label ice cream partner since 2020, supplying a variety of tub, block, and pint-sized ice cream products both in-store and through Tesco’s online platform.
The latest product launch follows an extension of the contract between Tesco and Silver Pail, valued at approximately €3.5 million.
Joe Manning, commercial director of Tesco Ireland, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “This partnership with Silver Pail reflects our strong focus on supporting Irish suppliers, Irish agri-food, and the Irish economy. This contract extension is good news for local farmers, the local economy, and our customers across Ireland, who can continue to enjoy products of exceptional quality and provenance.”
Silver Pail’s director, Paul Condon, welcomed the extended collaboration, noting, “We have been working with Tesco for the past five years, and this latest contract extension is a significant addition to our business. It helps us secure the jobs of our local workforce and supports many local and Irish suppliers.”
Located in the Golden Vale, Silver Pail sources premium cream from dairy farms in the renowned agricultural region, ensuring high-quality ingredients for its ice cream products.
