Houston-based Cosmic Ice Cream Co., founded by husband-and-wife duo Camille and Julian Haynes, is bringing its handcrafted, innovative flavors to more communities across the city.
What began as a home experiment during the pandemic has flourished into a thriving business with locations in Spring Branch, Pearland, and Clear Lake. Camille, a Houston native and registered dietitian, and Julian, a Maryland-born business professional who transitioned from a decade-long career in oil and gas, opened their first shop in Webster in 2021. Their ice creams, made entirely in-house, draw inspiration from their travels, family recipes, childhood memories, and even customer suggestions.
Now, the company is pushing creative boundaries through an upcoming Eat Like a Local collaboration in 2025. This partnership will introduce exclusive flavors crafted with local businesses, continuing a tradition of past collaborations with Houston staples such as Brennan’s, rapper Bun B, and Stuff’d Belly. Their latest creation—strawberry lemonade ice cream—features strawberries from Atkinson Farms and Frenchy’s Lemon Cake. The new flavor debuts this weekend in conjunction with the Eat Like a Local Ice Cream episode airing Saturday, March 29, at 10 a.m.
With bold flavors and a commitment to community-driven partnerships, Cosmic Ice Cream remains a beloved destination, serving up celestial-inspired treats to Houstonians—one scoop at a time.
