A unique new ice cream flavor is coming soon, and it’s definitely not your typical dessert. In celebration of the launch of Frida’s new 2-in-1 Manual Breast Pump, the baby brand is set to release a breast milk-flavored ice cream in about nine months.
In a press release dated March 26, Frida revealed that the ice cream would offer a “pitch-perfect” representation of the sweet, creamy, nutrient-packed qualities of breast milk. The ice cream will include nutrients like Omega-3s, carbs, vitamins (including iron, calcium, and vitamins B and D), zinc, and plenty of hydration from water. Frida explained that the product aims to answer the question “everyone’s secretly wondered”—what does breast milk actually taste like?
While the concept may sound surprising, a brand representative confirmed to PEOPLE that this is no April Fools’ prank. Frida is expecting “strong demand” for the product and believes customers will be “intrigued and excited” to try it. The limited-edition flavor will be sold in a pink-and-white tub.
Frida’s announcement has already sparked excitement on social media, with many fans eager to try the ice cream. Model Iskra Lawrence commented “Can’t wait!!!,” while musical artist Abbey Drucker wrote, “Sooooo good you guys.” One fan added, “ABSOLUTELY YES! We need this like yesterday!”
Interestingly, several celebrities have shared their experiences with breast milk, adding to the curiosity surrounding the flavor. Brody Jenner revealed that he added his fiancée Tia Blanco’s breast milk to their morning coffees after the birth of their daughter, Honey, in July 2023. Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Jenner’s former stepsister, also shared that she drank a glass of breast milk when she felt unwell after the birth of her son Rocky in November 2023.
As Frida’s breast milk-flavored ice cream prepares to make its debut, it looks like the trend of experimenting with unusual flavors is only just beginning.
