Beloved local business revives warm-weather favorites while expanding its fresh food offerings.
With the arrival of spring, Stage Stop is once again serving up scoops of summer fun. Located at the intersection of Highways 69 and 96, the popular eatery has reactivated its ice cream machines, bringing back seasonal favorites—including its renowned sundaes—to the delight of local patrons.
Owners Joe and Nancy Yandrofski, who have spent the past four years cultivating a loyal customer base, say they are excited to transition into the busier, warmer months. Known for their commitment to year-round, high-quality fare, the couple continues to focus on freshness and hand-prepared items. During a recent visit by the Tribune, Nancy was seen crafting handmade biscuits in the kitchen, a testament to the business’s dedication to homemade goodness.
“Cold treats slow down in the winter, but they’re back and better than ever,” said Joe Yandrofski. “We’re always working to offer the classics while adding new items, like our roast beef sandwich—we think it’ll be a hit for a quick lunch option.”
In addition to Stage Stop, the Yandrofskis operate the seasonal Zita’s Mountain Bistro, housed within the same cluster of buildings. The couple is currently developing a refreshed menu for Zita’s, which will feature fine wines, small plates, and opportunities for guest chefs to join the culinary lineup—creating an elevated, community-focused dining experience.
As temperatures rise and summer approaches, Stage Stop is poised once again to be a favorite destination for locals craving a taste of tradition, innovation, and hand-crafted flavor.
