Unilever’s Carte D’Or is poised to expand its product offerings with the introduction of a new collection of mini pots, featuring three delectable flavors, alongside an extension of its ‘Deluxe’ range with two dessert-inspired ice creams.
This strategic move is part of Unilever’s overarching plan to counter seasonal fluctuations and bolster year-round sales in the ice cream segment. Recognizing the evolving dessert landscape, Unilever observes a shift from traditional post-meal indulgence to evening snacking occasions. The mini pots are crafted to fulfill the demand for convenient ice cream snacking solutions, while the Deluxe range expansion aims to provide consumers with classic dessert flavors reimagined in an enticing ice cream format.
The mini pots offer a range of popular flavors in easily accessible portion sizes, catering to consumers exploring new snacking moments. Carte D’Or’s Mini Indulgence Vanilla Caramel Pecan combines rich caramel flavors with caramelized pecans and creamy vanilla. Meanwhile, the Mini Indulgence Eton Mess presents a delightful twist on the traditional British dessert, featuring strawberry-flavored ice cream, meringue pieces, and luscious strawberry sauce. Lastly, the Mini Indulgence Chocolate Cookie tantalizes taste buds with cookie pieces swirled into chocolate and cream-flavored ice cream, finished with a drizzle of cocoa chocolate sauce.
The Deluxe range introduces two new flavors – Tiramisu and New York Cheesecake – targeting consumers in search of a complete dessert experience. The Tiramisu variant, inspired by the beloved Italian delicacy, boasts tiramisu-flavored ice cream complemented by rich coffee sauce, coffee-infused sponge pieces, and a dusting of cocoa powder. On the other hand, the New York Cheesecake tub combines creamy cheesecake and biscuit-flavored ice cream, adorned with luscious strawberry sauce and crunchy biscuit pieces.
Hannah Faulkner, Desserts Brand Manager for Unilever, remarked, “The introduction of two iconic dessert flavors – tiramisu and cheesecake – builds upon the success of Carte D’Or Baileys during the winter season, securing its position as the second-best winter NPD.”
The Mini Indulgence range is currently available at Asda and Morrisons stores with a recommended retail price (RRP) of £1.99, while the Deluxe additions can be found in a wider array of UK retailers, priced at £4.50.
