ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — The community spirit is alive and well as Ice Cream Rescue, a beloved ice cream truck associated with Firehouse Subs, rolls into action to support the Pine City Volunteer Fire Department.
Co-Owner Gregory Davis emphasizes the importance of giving back to local fire departments, recognizing their invaluable role in safeguarding neighborhoods and responding to emergencies. “The fire departments in our local environment are important for everybody around. They’re the ones that first respond to our houses, and those are the companies that need help, those are the people that put their lives on the line. So, the least we could do is give back to them,” Davis stated.
Residents can contribute to this noble cause by indulging in ice cream treats from the Ice Cream Rescue truck stationed at Kent’s Auto Body on Pennsylvania Ave in Elmira. Operating daily from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until Saturday, the truck pledges to donate 15% of its sales, including tips and additional contributions, directly towards supporting the Pine City Volunteer Fire Department.
By enjoying a scoop or two of ice cream, locals not only satisfy their sweet cravings but also extend a helping hand to those who selflessly serve and protect the community.
