by Alice

Greater Noida – The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) announced on Thursday that it will allocate a five-acre plot to Mother Dairy near the Noida International Airport for the establishment of an office and ice cream parlour.

Yeida has designated 33 locations in residential areas, including sectors and villages, for utility facilities such as milk booths and vegetable shops to enhance convenience for residents. This includes 16 milk and vegetable booths in sectors and 17 in urban villages around the Noida International Airport in Jewar.

On Thursday, Yeida and Mother Dairy officials visited the site to finalize the location for the ice cream parlour and office. “We aim to set up at least one booth in each of the 52 blocks in residential sectors 18 and 20 as residents start moving in,” said a Yeida official. Initially, 16 booths will be set up in these areas, with additional booths planned for urban villages.

In March, Yeida launched a scheme offering 21 plots for milk and vegetable booths in Sectors 18 and 20. Mother Dairy expressed interest in setting up kiosks, proposing to build them at its own cost according to the Delhi Urban Art Commission’s approved design. The company sought plots near residential colonies with 1,500-3,500 flats.

Booth allocation will be based on objective assessments and presentations by applicants, with plots leased for 90 years. Yeida plans to allocate plots only to national and state cooperative societies and members of the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India Ltd. to ensure quality products at reasonable rates.

“This decision is for the convenience of current and future residents,” added a Yeida official. Additionally, Yeida is in talks with other cooperatives such as Amul and Parag to establish more milk and vegetable booths. “Once the election model code of conduct is lifted, we will launch more schemes to invite cooperatives to open ice cream parlours near the airport,” said Yeida CEO Arun Vir Singh.
