MONTEREY, Calif. — Nico’s Ice Cream, an Oregon-based ice cream company renowned for its “New Zealand-style” ice cream blended with real fruit, is expanding its reach to Monterey with its first out-of-state location set to open in June.
Owner Nico Vergara, along with his business partner, plans to unveil their Cannery Row location within three weeks. With two existing locations in Portland, Oregon, Vergara expressed excitement about branching out to Monterey.
The decision to choose Cannery Row as their inaugural out-of-state spot was influenced by their operating partners’ familiarity with the area. Vergara and his partner were captivated by the community, businesses, and overall charm of Monterey upon their arrival.
Nico’s Ice Cream specializes in four flavors: marionberry, raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry, all crafted with a dedication to incorporating real fruit into their signature “New Zealand-style” ice cream.
While specific operating hours have not been disclosed yet, eager patrons can anticipate indulging in Nico’s Ice Cream delights soon, adding a flavorful touch to Monterey’s culinary scene.
