MONTEREY, Calif. — Nico’s Ice Cream, an esteemed Oregon-based ice cream company renowned for its unique “New Zealand-style” ice cream blended with real fruit, is set to inaugurate its inaugural out-of-state branch in Monterey this June.
Owner Nico Vergara, in collaboration with his business partner, selected Monterey, known for its vibrant community and bustling businesses, as the ideal location for their expansion beyond Oregon. Drawing inspiration from their admiration for the area’s ambiance and local spirit, Vergara expressed excitement about introducing Nico’s Ice Cream to the Monterey community.
With two established locations in Portland, Oregon, Nico’s Ice Cream specializes in four delectable flavors: marionberry, raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry, each crafted with a meticulous blend of fresh fruit and creamy ice cream.
The forthcoming Monterey outpost will find its home within the historic Monterey Canning Company building, adding a touch of tradition to its modern culinary offerings.
While specific operating hours have yet to be announced, anticipation mounts for the grand opening of Nico’s Ice Cream on Cannery Row, promising a delightful addition to Monterey’s culinary scene.
