Lovingston, VA – Summer in Nelson County just got a whole lot sweeter with the opening of Nelson Scoops, a new ice cream shop on Thomas Nelson Highway.
Raluca and Sal Manino, the owners, saw a need for a local ice cream spot and decided to fill the void.
“Nelson County didn’t have an ice cream shop until we decided to start our very own,” said Sal Manino.
The shop, open for just two weeks, has already been met with positive feedback from the community.
“It’s been pretty amazing,” said Sal Manino. “The response from people, the response from the community couldn’t be, we couldn’t ask for more, honestly.”
Nelson Scoops offers a variety of rotating ice cream flavors, 16 toppings, and homemade waffle cones.
With summer in full swing, Nelson Scoops is sure to become a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
