Italian confectionery powerhouse Ferrero is set to tantalize taste buds this summer with the launch of Nutella Ice Cream, now available in supermarkets across Italy starting from the beginning of June.
Following the success of Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello ice cream sticks as well as Estathé Ice lollies, the introduction of Nutella Ice Cream marks a significant addition to Ferrero’s frozen treat repertoire, arriving three years after the debut of its popular hazelnut chocolate spread-inspired ice cream variants.
Packaged in a 230g tub and priced at €4.99, Nutella Ice Cream makes its debut on the heels of Nutella’s 60th anniversary, commemorating its initial release in Italy on April 20, 1964.
Alessandro Paleni, Ferrero’s regional ice cream marketing manager, describes the new gelato as a “frozen delight” that seamlessly blends the “iconic and familiar taste” of Nutella with an “exciting twist of textures inside.”
With the overwhelming success of Nutella Biscuits, which sold 47 million packets in its inaugural year, Ferrero anticipates a similar response to its latest frozen creation, as it continues to captivate palates with innovative and beloved offerings.
