As Chester prepares to celebrate the nuptials of The Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor and his fiancée Olivia Henson on Friday, June 7, city center visitors are in for a sweet treat—complimentary ice cream and gelato.
As a gesture of support for local businesses and in celebration of their wedding, the couple will sponsor free servings of ice cream, gelato, and sorbet from three esteemed independent establishments in the heart of the city.
Starting from 10 am and continuing throughout the day, visitors can enjoy these delectable offerings:
Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, located in Chester Market, will offer Cheshire Farm single-scoop ice creams or slices of a special lemon-sponge flavored Arctic roll, inspired by the couple’s lemon-themed wedding cake.
Diddy Donuts, situated underneath the Eastgate Clock, will provide a choice of a single scoop of ice cream, a small portion of their renowned donuts, or refreshing beverages such as water, tea, or coffee.
Krum Gelato, positioned near the Cross at the top of Watergate Street, will serve a single scoop from their range of freshly made gelato and sorbets, including a bespoke lemon sorbet flavor inspired by the couple’s wedding cake.
The initiative aligns with The Duke and Olivia’s commitment to supporting local and regional businesses, evident in their recent funding of Chester’s Summer Flowers project, aimed at enhancing the city’s floral displays.
Expressing gratitude for the community’s support, The Duke reflected on the significance of the upcoming wedding and extended his appreciation for the city’s enthusiasm and assistance.
While the wedding festivities are expected to bring about road closures throughout the city center, residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their travels accordingly.
