McDonald’s is expanding its plant-based offerings with the introduction of two new vegan ice cream flavors: Choco Scoop and Strawberry Scoop. These dairy-free options are currently being tested at select locations in the UK.
While these new treats are generating excitement, they are only available in certain areas for now. However, positive customer reviews suggest a future rollout in other markets, including the U.S., might be possible.
In a recent Reddit post, one customer described the new dessert as “a cross between soft serve and regular ice cream,” praising the chocolate flavor. Another user, delighted by the surprise addition to the menu, compared the Choco Scoop to “a cold chocolate mousse” and found it “very tasty.”
The vegan ice creams are served in tubs, not dispensed from ice cream machines, eliminating concerns about equipment malfunctions.
The trial period for the Choco Scoop and Strawberry Scoop runs until September 3. Future availability in the U.S. and other regions remains to be seen.
