conic Philadelphia Ice Cream Shop, Twistee Treat, Up for Sale

by Alice

PHILADELPHIA – Twistee Treat, the iconic ice cream shop housed in a 27-foot-tall cone-shaped building, is on the market just in time for summer. Situated on Longshore Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, the distinctive manila-colored cone topped with swirling pink ice cream can now be yours for $150,000.

Owner Mohammed Nasher is looking for a suitable buyer, ideally someone from the local community who can continue the business’s legacy. “It’s always busy – especially on the weekends. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we’re open until 9, but people come until 9 or 9:30,” Nasher told FOX 29.

Twistee Treat’s lease has three years remaining, with an option for a fifth year, and the rent is competitively priced. Nasher, who also owns two car dealerships and a mechanic’s shop in Philadelphia, explained that his decision to sell is driven by a desire to focus on his other ventures. “If I don’t find a buyer, I’ll keep it, it’s not the end of the world,” Nasher said. “I figured if I can give this to somebody else who is going to run it and they’ve gotta make sure they put in the time and effort.”

The sale of Twistee Treat offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated entrepreneur to take over a beloved local business with a steady customer base and a prominent, eye-catching location.
