A new ice cream parlour could soon open in Plymouth, running alongside a neighboring restaurant under new plans submitted to the city council. Lukman Kader, the applicant, aims to convert a ground floor flat he owns at 143 King Street into ‘Nawroz Deserts’.
Kader already operates two adjacent businesses, Nawroz Stores and Nawroz Restaurant, which specializes in Middle Eastern cuisine and is described as a “well-supported and popular venue for diners,” according to the application submitted to Plymouth City Council.
The ground floor flat slated for conversion requires upgrading. The design and access statement for the application notes, “It is anticipated that the new facility proposed would be very popular with local residents. The conversion would represent a considerable upgrading to the neighborhood.”
The statement further emphasizes that the new ice cream parlour would provide an additional amenity for local residents, enhancing the available facilities in the area. “The proposal, if approved and implemented, will allow for the provision of an additional facility to enhance those available to local residents. It is therefore worthy of support.”
If approved, the ice cream parlour is expected to become a popular addition to the community, contributing positively to the local area.
