ALABAMA (WHNT) — Totally Cool, a Maryland-based ice cream manufacturer, has initiated a recall of numerous ice cream products following concerns of potential listeria contamination, as announced by the FDA.
The recall affects more than 60 products, including various ice cream cakes, pints, and cones, which have been distributed nationwide through retail outlets and direct deliveries. Some of the brands impacted by the recall include ChipWich, Marco, Jeni’s (specifically ice cream sandwiches), Friendly’s, Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery, Hershey’s Ice Cream, Yelloh!, Cumberland Farms, The Frozen Farmer, AMAFruits, Taharka, Dolcezza Gelato, LaSalle, and others.
Fortunately, there have been no reported illnesses associated with the affected products to date. Consumers in possession of recalled items are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The FDA advises consumers to remain vigilant and to promptly discard or return any recalled ice cream products to mitigate potential health risks associated with listeria contamination.
