The Museum of Ice Cream, famous for its whimsical and photogenic experiences, is set to make a permanent mark in Miami with a new location at Miami Worldcenter. The 14,000-square-foot venue will open its doors on September 6, offering visitors a vibrant and playful tribute to the beloved frozen treat.
Following successful stints in cities like New York, Austin, and Chicago, as well as internationally in Singapore, the museum is now bringing its charm to the heart of Florida. According to Local 10 News, the new downtown location promises more than just Instagram-worthy visuals; it also offers unlimited ice cream from local favorite Azucar Ice Cream and specially crafted ice cream-themed cocktails during adult hours.
Co-founder and Co-CEO Maryellis Bunn shared that her time in Miami has deeply influenced her approach to designing museums worldwide. The Miami location features symbolic elements that pay homage to the city’s culture, such as a sprinkle pool inspired by the iconic Versace Mansion, adding depth and cultural relevance to the experience.
The museum aims to engage all the senses, encouraging visitors to fully immerse themselves in the experience. “You’ll see sensory elements from taste, touch, and smell incorporated throughout,” Bunn said in a statement highlighted by Blooloop.
In addition to its playful design, the museum will offer a multisensory tasting experience that reflects Miami’s unique flavor profile, developed in partnership with International Flavors and Fragrances. Features like the ‘Grand Hall of Freezers’ and the retro ‘Cream Liner’ blend nostalgia with novelty, creating an experience that is both familiar and fresh.
Co-founder and Co-CEO Manish Vora emphasized the significance of the museum’s new location, stating, “Bringing the museum to Miami Worldcenter has been a game-changer as it truly positions the museum at the epicenter of downtown Miami and as a global arts destination,” Vora told Blooloop.
