Imuraya is set to launch its latest seasonal offering, “Yawamochi Ice Cream Chestnut Zukuri,” on September 16, 2024, promising a taste of autumn in every bite. This new addition to the popular Yawamochi Ice Cream Series, which debuted in 2012, follows a recent product enhancement in March 2024, aiming to deliver an even richer taste experience.
The “Chestnut Zukuri” flavor features a combination of chestnut paste and diced chestnuts, designed to evoke the essence of autumn. The ice cream is topped with a sweet and savory chestnut bean paste, made from roasted and ground chestnuts, providing an authentic chestnut flavor. The addition of diced chestnut bean paste inside the ice cream enhances the texture and deepens the chestnut taste.
In addition to the chestnut elements, the new product includes soft and chewy mochi made with a blend of shiratama (white bean) flour and glutinous rice flour. This luxurious rice cake, resembling chestnuts, contributes to the overall delightful experience of the ice cream.
The chestnut ice cream itself is crafted to offer a delicate, refreshing sweetness that complements and elevates the other ingredients.
To mark the launch, Imuraya will kick off the “October 10 is Yawamochi Ice Cream Day: 47 Prefectures Yawamochi Love Survey” campaign on September 2, 2024. Fans are encouraged to participate by following Imuraya’s official X account (@IMURAYA_DM) and posting their favorite Yawamochi ice cream flavor using the hashtag #YawamochiIceCreamLoveSurvey by September 30, 2024. The “Yawamochi Ice Cream Chestnut Zukuri” will be available for purchase at major retailers, supermarkets, convenience stores, and Imuraya’s online store across Japan starting September 16, 2024.
