In Hyderabad’s bustling food scene, where innovative outlets frequently vie for attention, a cafe in Jubilee Hills has found itself in legal trouble for serving whisky-infused ice cream.
The establishment reportedly mixed 60 ml of whisky into each kilogram of ice cream, a move that drew the attention of both children and youth. The cafe’s promotion of this alcoholic treat on social media further fueled concerns.
Following a tip-off, Excise and Enforcement officials conducted raids on the cafe’s two locations. They seized 23 pieces and 11.5 kilograms of the whisky ice cream and have since filed a case against the cafe’s owner. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
As Hyderabad’s food industry continues to innovate, the incident underscores the importance of adhering to health regulations and ensuring consumer safety.
