Robb and Tricia Winiecki, longtime fans of Royal Scoop ice cream and friends with the founders, have taken a significant step by opening their own Royal Scoop location. The new shop officially opened on September 20 at the Estero Crossing shopping center in Estero.
Previously, the Winieckis operated a nonmedical home care business in Naples for 14 years, which they sold in 2022. “We wanted to pursue something a bit more fun,” Robb Winiecki remarked, while Tricia added, “Light-hearted. Let’s do something happy.”
The 1,477-square-foot store was completed in just 10 weeks by CarbonSix Construction, which installed indoor seating and kitchen equipment. As part of the franchise agreement, the Winieckis will offer at least 30 rotating flavors of Royal Scoop ice cream. The shop will employ around 20 staff members, with single scoops priced at just over $5, alongside cones, sundaes, and shakes.
Customers can expect a variety of flavors, from traditional chocolate and vanilla to unique options like Death by Peanut Butter, Rum & Raisin, and Brownie Batter. In a heartfelt tribute, Tricia has dedicated the shop to her late father, Jack Ufheil, who passed away last year and was known for his daily ice cream indulgence.
The Winiecki family has resided in the Estero area for two decades, and Robb expressed confidence in their decision, stating, “We always knew Royal Scoop was the answer for us.” Originating in Naples in 1979, the Estero location becomes the fifth for the beloved ice cream brand. “Everybody in the area knows Royal Scoop. Estero is ready and large enough to support this location,” Robb concluded.
