Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will celebrate the grand opening of its latest scoop shop in the Seaport district on Thursday, September 26. The store will welcome visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a special offer of $1 scoops. Additionally, the first 100 guests will receive complimentary Van Leeuwen merchandise.
Renowned for its innovative collaboration flavors—including Hidden Valley Ranch, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, and the BIGFACE Coffee Affogato created with NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler—Van Leeuwen boasts a diverse menu with over 30 signature flavors. Highlights include the award-winning Vanilla Bean, Honeycomb, Pistachio, Marionberry Cheesecake, Praline Butter Cake, and Earl Grey Tea.
Since its inception in 2008, Van Leeuwen has expanded to over 50 scoop shops across 10 states. The Seaport location marks the second of three planned shops in the Boston area, following the opening of the Chestnut Hill store in April. The company is also exploring potential locations in Back Bay, Wellesley, and Fenway, as noted on its website.
The Seaport shop will introduce a limited-edition flavor, Lemon Meringue Pie, featuring toasted meringue ice cream blended with chunks of white chocolate-covered homemade crunchy pie crust and swirls of house-made tart lemon curd. This exclusive flavor will initially be available at the Seaport location and will also be offered at the Harvard Square shop upon its opening later this fall.
The Seaport scoop shop will be located in The Superette at 70 Pier 4 Blvd. in Boston, with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
