An Oregon-based ice cream company has announced the opening date for its first out-of-state location, which happens to be in Monterey County.
Nico’s Ice Cream specializes in “New Zealand-style” ice cream, which is a mix of ice cream and real fruit.
Owner Nico Vergara told KSBW 8 that they will open their Cannery Row location in the Monterey Canning Co. building on Saturday, October 5.
They will host a grand opening event from noon to 5 p.m.
The first 50 people in line will receive free ice cream.
There will also be some vendors that will be announced in the future.
According to their website, they have four flavors: marionberry, raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry.
