Aglamesis Bros. Ice Cream and Chocolate is set to open its Hamilton location on October 10, marking the brand’s first new store in over 50 years. President and CEO Randy Young announced that a grand opening ceremony, complete with a ribbon-cutting, is scheduled for 3 p.m. on the opening day.
Hamilton Planning Director Lauren Nelson expressed enthusiasm for the new addition, stating that both the city and the CORE organization are excited about the grand opening. “Their delicious ice cream and chocolates will be a great complement to the other small businesses and restaurants in the Main Street Business District,” she said.
The new store will occupy the Davis Building at 304 Main St., located at the intersection of D and Main streets in Hamilton’s urban core. This area has seen growth recently, with establishments like the 513 Bar and True West opening nearby, and Rossville Flats debuting nearly a year ago.
Dan Bates, president of the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, has been eagerly anticipating Aglamesis Bros.’ arrival. After collaborating with the family-run business, he stated he is even more excited than when the expansion was initially announced in July. “I think they’re going to be an amazing addition to our business community, positively impacting the area,” he said.
Aglamesis Bros. currently operates two locations on Cincinnati’s east side, at 3046 Madison Road in Oakley and 9899 Montgomery Road in Montgomery.
Young previously mentioned that the management team is already in place, and although they are not actively hiring due to an overwhelming number of applications, the company will reassess staffing needs once the store opens.
