Crèmerie Oaké has quickly become a beloved destination for artisanal frozen treats, drawing in outdoor enthusiasts and visitors alike. Renowned for its legendary hospitality and decadent ice creams, this charming establishment is a must-visit in Bromont.
Offering a delightful array of frozen options, including hard ice cream, gelato, and soft serve, Crèmerie Oaké prides itself on crafting all its products in-house. The focus is on using local ingredients, although some components—like pistachios—are sourced from Italy. Their pistachio gelato has garnered rave reviews, and patrons highly recommend the Reese’s ice cream and the coffee flavor as must-try selections.
The venue itself is beautifully decorated and welcoming, with a special area designed for children. Guests can enjoy comfortable outdoor seating with picnic tables and a cozy porch for inclement weather.
Chantal Bédard, the owner and a nurse by profession, embarked on this venture as a semi-retirement project after earning her MBA. Initially planning to open a cheese factory, she pivoted to ice cream to better cater to families. “Éric, my husband, was such a fan of ice cream that he was willing to have his wisdom teeth removed just to enjoy it guilt-free,” Chantal shares. The inspiration for the shop stemmed from their trips to Italy and a desire to create a positive experience for children who might not enjoy hiking or biking. After two years of preparation, Crèmerie Oaké opened its doors in July 2023, nestled at the foot of Mount Oak. Éric Brunelle, a master ice cream maker, contributed his expertise and developed remarkable recipes during extensive training abroad.
Tragically, the Bromont community experienced a profound loss in May with Éric’s unexpected passing. Chantal reflected, “Without our team, I don’t know if we could have reopened. We are fortunate to have such a beautiful community around us.” In a heartfelt tribute, the employees committed to preserving his legacy by mastering his recipes. “Éric’s passion was truly contagious, and I’m grateful that the team stepped up to honor his work,” Chantal concluded.
For anyone visiting, Crèmerie Oaké promises a warm welcome and a delicious experience—make sure to say hello from the community!
